Last month we read that we have a" treasure in earthen vessels.” Our body is the clay pot or jar of clay which houses the priceless treasure of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Jesus taught about treasures. In today’s Scripture, He tells us not to accumulate wealth on this earth, but to lay up treasures in heaven. Where your treasure is, so is your heart. What you place your affections on is what you value most. If all you care about is making money, that is your treasure and that will be your reward. Why have a reward that will decay or be stolen by thieves? Ask yourself what your greatest priority is. Is it possessions, position, power or the pursuit of pleasure? Tragedy can also reveal our treasures to us.
