SCRIPTURE: Luke 19:1-10
Read: Luke Ch.019: 001
- 010
The name “Zacchaeus” means “Pure One”. Zacchaeus was short and this was a hindrance to him at the time because he wanted to see Jesus as He passed by. Zacchaeus was also a very rich man, but he was a sinner, he was not pure as his name suggested. Jesus told him, “Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down, for today I must abide at thy house.” When Jesus told Zacchaeus to hurry up and come down the tree because He wanted to dine at his house, Zacchaeus was joyful. So Jesus stayed with Zacchaeus for awhile to have a meal. Although this made Zacchaeus happy, the crowd began to murmur. How dare Jesus dine with a sinner! When Jesus left Jericho and Zacchaeus’s home, he walked toward Jerusalem and towards His death in 10 days time.
IF JESUS WANTED TO DINE WITH YOU TODAY, WOULD YOU BE READY?
